Title
Water Droplets on Mirror
Year
2009
Materials
Mirror, water droplets, incandescent bulb or other light source
Instruction
Scatter water droplets across a mirror.
Direct a bulb or other focused light source onto the surface so that the droplets and their reflected or projected images disperse into the surrounding space.
The work exists while the droplets retain their form and continue to refract and reflect the light.
It ends when the droplets evaporate, merge beyond recognition, or lose their optical effect.
Note
Each droplet acts as both material presence and image-generating point.
The work exists as a temporary relation between scattered water, reflected light, and spatial dispersion.
