Title
Falling Bubbles
Year
2011
Materials
Soap bubbles, projector light, darkened space
Instruction
Release soap bubbles from above within a darkened space.
Project light from overhead so that both the illuminated bubbles and their shadows become visible.
The work exists while bubbles continue to fall through the light and remain momentarily legible as both bodies and images.
It ends when the bubbles burst, the fall ceases, or the projection is interrupted.
Note
A thin and unstable material produces both a visible surface and a corresponding shadow.
The work exists as a temporary relation between suspension, illumination, and disappearance.
