Susuki grass, LED lights, darkened space, blinking mechanism
Instruction
Arrange mounds of susuki within a darkened space.
Conceal multiple LED lights inside the grass and set them to blink at a rhythm comparable to insect light.
Maintain the density of the mounds and the concealment of the lights so that the field appears to contain intermittent signals from within.
The work exists while this condition is sustained.
Note
The work is held in a prolonged state rather than in immediate collapse.
It exists as a maintained relation between vegetal mass, hidden light, and the suggestion of an internal signal.
